How can you get involved? The way to guarantee placement abroad is to be an active member of your Local Committee (LC). Members who contribute the most to their LC will be given preference when competing for internships nationally. Here are some ways you can contribute:
Aside from being an officer, raising a job represents the largest single contribution a member can make. For each job raised by our LC, an IAESTE at NC State member is guaranteed placement abroad. Jobs must be paid and in quality positions in science, engineering or architecture. For more information, or especially if you know of a job that is available, contact our job raising coordinator.
When the jobs that we find are filled by international trainees, lots of organization and planning are needed to facilitate their arrival and ensure that they have a great Summer. This includes finding housing, planning activities, preparing welcome packets, airport pick-up, shopping trips, and being around during the Summer to help out. For more information, contact our reception coordinator.
Coming to meetings is a great way to find out more about the program and express your interest in being involved. Check the website for locations and dates, sign up for the listserv or contact the LC president to get more information.
